OC SPRAY CERTIFICATION

OC PEPPER SPRAY

This course will cover OC Spray training: Personal Protection, definitions, characteristics of OC, carrying, deploying, and manipulation of the canister, verbal and physical skills to aid with prevention, awareness, avoidance, distraction of any possible conflict, legal protection for carrying and deployment within your rights (to include and decontamination considerations).

 This course does not require you to be exposed to the active OC agent. But we recommend that you should. We only say this because when you would have to defend yourself by deploying the OC agent and were to become exposed yourself, you will be able to know how to control your physical well being and work through the psychological fatigue. 

 To ensure the utmost safety for participants, our training policy involving oleoresin capsicum will be adhered to.  

 -Anyone who has undergone LASIK or any corrective eye surgery within the preceding (6) six months can NOT participate in the voluntary contamination exercise. After (6) six months, you must also have written approval from your doctor to participate in the voluntary contamination exercise.

-It is our recommendation that any student with allergies to pepper, asthma, or who had corrective eye surgery do NOT participate in the voluntary contamination exercise. Anyone suffering from asthma who wishes to participate must immediately notify the instructor and ensure that appropriate prescribed medicine such as an inhaler or ventilator is in your possession. Along with written approval from your doctor to participate in the exercise.

 -All students are required to sign a release of liabilities statement before conducting training.
